OUR TEAMS

London Royals field seven teams — four men's sides, two women's sides and a mixed social team. Six play league hockey on Saturday mornings; the mixed team plays friendlies through the season, with no league table and no Saturday commitment.

Everyone trains at the John Orwell pitch in Wapping, one evening a week, and there are no trials — you come to a session, play, and the captains find you the side that fits. If you're new to hockey or coming back to it after years away, the Men's 3s and 4s, the Women's 2s and the mixed social team are the places to start.

Women's Teams

Two women’s sides, both training one evening a week in Wapping and playing league hockey on Saturday mornings. The 1s are the club’s most competitive women’s team; the 2s are where most new and returning players start.

Men's Teams

Four men’s sides, from the 1s at the top to the 3s and 4s, who share a division and play each other twice a season. All four train in Wapping midweek and play on Saturday mornings.

Mixed Social Team

One mixed team, playing friendlies rather than a league season — no table, no selection and no Saturday commitment. It trains on Sunday afternoons in Wapping and is the easiest place to start if you’ve never played, or haven’t played in years.
